Walking Around and MUSIC!


So today has been mildly productive. I'm still setting the stage, but I think I got some good stuff figured out.

First -- got started with the "maze" stage. Painted a hacky backdrop and clonked together a basic spritesheet with my preliminary sketches. Put together a basic move handler and now I've got Andy walking around. I've decided that my tilesize will be 100x100, which follows my model (Helltaker) and gives me some more real-estate for the character sprites. I have some issues to figure out for restricting the board size appropriately and so on, but I'm confident that I can resolve those one way or the other.

Speaking of moves, I also have a very basic "move clock" working. However, the count down should end in death, which is not currently happening... Soon.

But the big news is that the composer, Matt, sent a rough draft for the title music. I asked if he could make the opening part a bit more cheerful, but the back half is great! I was inspired to go ahead and paint a quick plate for the title background and make the bus happen. It's far from finished, but just having the music in improves it 100%.

If I can get board setup and navigation, move clock to death working tomorrow, I'll be pretty happy. If I can get the question stage working, I'll be delirious.
