First Light!

Oh boy! First Lisp game jam of the year!

Like my last several entries, I'm hoping to use this opportunity to develop my "Canned Heat" game "engine" a bit further. Before the jam started, I went so far as to build a test game and wound up rewriting all the Store query functions. I also cleaned up some other bits and bobs, and started on a tutorial (which is not going to be finished any time soon, because my hands are going be full with this). So, hopefully, I can hit the ground running...

I've decided on a concept and mapped out roughly how it'll work. I've followed the steps in my tutorial and created a new game file. I got a (very basic) title screen working and set up stages for the other parts of the game. And... I've also gone ahead and set up the game page in itch so I can push my builds to continuously.

My motto for this jam is "at least one new build pushed a day!"

This will make sure that I always have at least something operational, with no rushing around last minute to do uploads. And hopefully it will encourage me to keep moving forward. Of course, my game testers will also be able to test in place, so that will be good too!

Next things to do -- write a brief for the game concept and put together a punchlist.
